"You're on the Air: How to Really Make it in Voice-Overs!" is a one-time, 2-hour interactive workshop. This class is designed to introduce interested students to the industry, allow them to ask questions, check out industry standard recording equipment, and even get to step up to the mic and record a practice voice-over.
In this class, our professional voice-over artist and instructor Brian Thon will discuss the main players in the voice-over industry, how it used to work vs. how it works today, basic voice-over technique for a narration vs. commercial, what clients want to hear in their advertisements, where voice-over artists work today, if the voice-over industry is right for you, how to get voice-over training, how to use the Such A Voice method to develop your unique voice, and how to best market your voice-over brand to become a successful voice-over artist.
"Brian Thon equals 'The WOW factor,'" according to Grammy nominated Program Director, Bob Pierce of the Light Radio Network. "Brian's voice projects authenticity and charm. He is versatile, imaginative, and energetic." Since high school and college, Brian has been contributing, perfecting and pushing the boundaries in broadcasting and producing. In those 25 years, Brian has worked in front of and behind the camera in film and television. Ranging from guest host of greater Philadelphia's live morning show, Coffee Break, to writing and producing independent short films in association with New York University (NYU), the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), and Kutztown University to Voice Over Talent, Brian demonstrates experience and exuberance. Locally and nationally, Brian is the "voice that rings true."
