What will I learn?

  • The Techniques: Your instructor, Brian Thon, will teach you the voice-over techniques that professional voice actors use.
  • Different Types of Voice-Overs: There are many different types of voice-overs, which means that there’s a lot for you to explore. Discover what type speaks to you the most.
  • The Union: One major question that voice-over artists find themselves asking is, “Should I join the union or not?” Find out how the union works and if it’s something you should join.
  • How to get the work: Brian dives deeper into how to effectively market yourself as a voice actor. The way you position yourself in-person or online can help you land the job you’re looking to get.
  • The Home Studio: Learn about how many voice actors build their recording studios in their own home and work from there.
  • Voice-Over Demos: It’s crucial to have a professional recorded voice-over demo in order to get the work. It’s your way of showing a client or agency what you and your voice can do. Brian will talk more about the process of editing and recording your demo.

Who teaches the Vermont voice-over classes?

Brian Thon’s voice has been featured on and off screen in independent films from coast to coast as far back as the 80’s. He’s voiced commercials and narrations for cable, the web, and the radio. His ever-expanding international voice-over and production credits include Amazon, Fox, MetLife, GE Healthcare, the Clarion Inn & Suites, professional sports teams, film, and many more.

He formed his own multimedia production company True Tone Studios in 2008. Since then he has been training and coaching and has become a national producer. He has worked in studios all over the US with best-selling authors and Rock and Roll Hall of Famers.
